Sarnia Lambton Pride - 14-15 Aug (1 reply)

Didn't know there was a Pride in this part of the country? Well, your are not alone, neither did I. For various reasons, Sarnia-Lambton Pride was basically dead. There used to be one but it disappeared a couple of years ago.

Now, through the determination of a few people, Pride in Lambton county has been resurrected. With few resources these people have managed to put together a new Pride and are working hard to make it work.

A few weeks ago I discovered, quite by accident when I stumbled across a Facebook group, that a new Pride was being organized for this area. And I am asking for your support. If we can make this Pride rock then we will form the basis for bigger and better events in the future. And it is about time we shook up this place.

Pride weekend is the 14-15th of August and should be a good time for everyone.

Start off the weekend by attending The Heart of Broadway at the Imperial Theatre. Performed by the Starlight Summer Festival it is a spectacular show featuring music from some of the best musicals ever to hit Broadway. From ‘Camelot’ to ‘Spamalot’...Powerhouse entertainers from Toronto, Stratford and the Broadway productions of The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Ragtime, Evita, Joseph, Cats, Music Man and more, all star in this lavish presentation of your favourite musical moments. With its glorious gowns and elegant setting, this thrilling theatrical experience will carry you from laughter to tears as it travels straight to the ‘Heart of Broadway’…and yours.

On Saturday is our Family Pride afternoon. This free event will feature games, activities and entertainment for the kids and everyone is invited. There will also be tables with local vendors displaying their unique products and showing their support for the LGBT community. Running from noon until 5pm, Family Pride will be followed by a bbq which will give everyone a chance to just kick back and relax a little. But not for long because at 8pm the Pride dance kicks off.

Hosted by the fabulous Robyn Miss Conduct, this will be a party like no one has ever seen before in Sarnia-Lambton. There will be entertainment, dancing and some serious celebrating into the wee hours.

So, if you possibly can make it, come out and support Sarnia-Lambtons Pride as it arises from the ashes. We so desperately need your participation to keep this alive and growing. For more information, and to keep on top of what is going on, visit www.yourlambtonpride.com.

Thank you one and all for your support.

As a result, we've recognized what a very unique situation an alluring Affair offers.

We also remember what it was like for our first time out. Are people staring? Are people laughing at me?

Deerhurst Resort, our luscious venue for an alluring Affair, and the site of the 2010 G8 summit, is a brilliant opportunity for first-timers and people who have already been out but aren't completely comfortable.

This self-enclosed event (unless you are comfortable with wandering into town) is an excellent, safe and secure place; the staff has extensive experience with the LGBT audience and is completely looking forward to making our stay as comfortable and fun as possible.

So we are proud to announce;

Double Occupancy: We've had no-end of communication from first-timers about how safe and secure this event is. Because of our press release, we've also had a lot of chatter about people bringing family members or their support people. Because of all this, we've recognized what a unique event we're offering. We've gone back to all our suppliers, expressed the very important need to support first-timers and those with the experience to be mentors, and are pleased to offer the excellent rate of $879.99 for double occupancy (more than $100 savings) until September 1st. After September 1st,t he price returns to $989.99. Double occupancy includes accommodations (one suite for two people), all group meals, workshops, dance and entertainment for two.
