I am an openly gay freelance illustrator based in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. I have been working in the industry for just over 7 years . I have mostly published editorial pieces for magazines (Genre, Instinct) but have also produced some work for Children’s books as well as the Greeting Card market. (Village Lighthouse / 10%) I graduated from the illustration program at the Ontario College of Art and Design, and obtained my Bachelor of Design Degree from the Open University (BC) in 1999.
To create my images I work primarily on the computer, although, on occasion I will work more traditionally with watercolor or pen and ink. Regardless of the medium, however, my focus is always the same – to establish character and tell an interesting story. My work speaks of my life, the people that I love, and even my spirituality. I am inspired by literature, movies, and popular culture. I am also fascinated with rediscovering the power of literal and visual cliché.
